Councillor Walters proposed a motion to refuse planning permission as the development would by reason of its height, scale, location and the degree of hardstanding, would be obtrusive and have an adverse impact upon the openness of the Green Belt. As such, the proposal is inappropriate development in the Green Belt. No Very Special Circumstances exist which clearly outweighs the harm to the Green Belt which is afforded substantial weight, and the other harm identified. The proposal is therefore contrary to Policy QP5 of the Borough Local Plan and Chapter 13 of the NPPF. The proposal would by reason of its size and scale neither preserve nor enhance the character or appearance of the Cookham Dean Conservation Area. As such, the proposal is therefore contrary to policies QP3 and HE1 of the BLP. This motion was seconded by Councillor Brar.

Planning appeals received and planning decision report PDF 72 KB Committee Members to note the report. Minutes: Gillian Macinnes, Deputy Head of Planning, noted that the appeal for The Arcade High Street Cookham Maidenhead SL6 9TA had been allowed and had been awarded costs. Gillian Macinnes noted that the item had been recommended for approval but was refused by Committee and requested Committee Members read the appeal.
Councillor G Singh asked what costs had been awarded, Gillian Macinnes responded that it was yet to be determined.
