To develop the Big Society Agenda at a local level, by shaping an environment where it is easy for communities to do things for themselves around issues that matter to them by ensuring/allowing communities to set direction in their locality. Further, to facilitate as much as possible the maximum community benefit.

To consider proposals from Members or others (which must have a sponsoring Permanent Member, or prior agreement by the Chairman) in relation to the Big Society Agenda.

To make recommendations as and when necessary and appropriate to Cabinet (or the Council, or other Panels or to external bodies), on proposals, activities, initiatives, and projects associated with the Big Society Agenda.
