This was seconded by Councillor Hill. The reasons for the motion were that the proposed development, because of its height, scale, bulk, mass and design, would represent poor quality design. Therefore, the proposal would be out of keeping with the character of the surrounding area and would appear incongruous in the street scene. This is contrary to saved Policies DG1 and H11 of the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead Local Plan 1999 (Incorporating Alterations Adopted in June 2003), Guidance G6.1 of the Cookham Village Design Statement Supplementary Planning Guidance (2013) and paragraphs 122(d) and 127(a and c) of the National Planning Policy Framework (2019).
