Councillor Cannon declared a personal interest in item 8 as he knows the applicants as residents in his Ward. He confirmed he attended Panel with an open mind.

 

Councillor Davies declared a personal interest in item 6 as she attended the building for a Pilates class. Councillor Davies confirmed she attended Panel with an open mind.

 

Councillor Hilton declared a personal interest in item 4 as he knew the objector that had registered to speak as an acquaintance as he runs the local football club. He confirmed he attended Panel with an open mind.

 

Councillor Sharpe declared a personal interest in items 4 and 5 as his wife is the Chairman of Ascot and Sunninghill Parish Council. He confirmed he attended Panel with an open mind.

A motion was put forward by Councillor Sharpe to defer the application to enable further negotiations with the applicant. This was seconded by Councillor Shelim.

 

The Panel voted unanimously to DEFER the application

    A motion was put forward by Councillor W. Da Costa to approve the application as per Officers recommendation. This was seconded by Councillor Bowden.

     

    A named vote was taken and nine Councillors voted for the motion (Cllrs Bateson, Bowden, Cannon, W. Da Costa, Davies, Knowles, Sharpe, Shelim and Tisi). Two Councillors abstained from the vote (Cllrs Davey and Hilton).

     

    It was agreed to APPROVE the application.

    It was unanimously agreed to REFUSE the application.

     

    In coming to its decision the panel noted that the adverse impacts of the development (particularly with regards heritage and character concenrs) would significantly and demonstrably outweigh the benefits of approving the scheme.
