consultancy services to develop the SPD.

A competitive Procurement process has been
undertaken and the need for the work has been agreed by the Cabinet
Members and desire from the local community to see an SPD
developed.
Alternative options considered:
Do Nothing, undertake work in house. This was
dis-regarded as the work the design consultants bring, provided
specialist expertise to develop a high quality planning
document.

Work delayed risks the council losing the
potential to gain potential developer contributions.
Mitigation: Push forward with SPD and Ascot High Street
Proposals.
