RBWM Leisure - Street Tag Project - Agreement Signature
Decision Maker: Assistant Director of Neighbourhood Services
Decision status: Recommendations Approved
Is Key decision?: No
Is subject to call in?: No
Decision:
The programme has been secured via a bid in
autumn 2024 to the RBWM Public Health Fund
Reasons for the decision:
To allow for the RBWM Leisure team to work
towards:
Increasing physical activity and civic engagement across the
borough with particular focus within Healthy Streets, School Zones
and lower IMD areas.
Use gamification to encourage an increase in activity particularly
in individuals not meeting current CMO guidelines.
Encourage Active Travel use, to assist in meeting targets in the
LCWIP.
Alternative options considered:
Street Tag was chosen due to their fees
fitting within the budget available, and their ability to deliver a
programme that can be run over a year, giving a good value for
money programme that can reach the most residents in the
borough.
RBWM Leisure Team also discussed the project with "Eco Rewards" who
were charging significantly more and moreover could only cover 2
parts of the borough; and "Beat the Street" who could not match
Street Tag’s fees + can only run for 1 x 6 week
“term” of community activity.
Do nothing option would mean the return of the public health fund
and the project will not be delivered.
Details of any associated risks and mitigation:
Programme has developed a working group (made
up of internal RBWM departments and external local groups and
residents) to ensure that it can share ways the project can
overcome any associated risks which include
1. Ensuring players are safe when playing.
2. Supporting with mapping locations of the projects.
3. Can share communication and feedback with residents and local
groups.
2. Communicating

Details of any associated equality/ sustainability /data protection considerations:
The programme will be run in multiple seasons
(8 weeks at a time, with time to review each season), and will
include monitoring information from Street Tag that includes user
surveys. This will allow for the reviews to look at who is taking
part and how to ensure more users / locations are regularly
considered with regards to all being able to have a chance to play
in RBWM.
Amongst the planning and feedback reasons for the Working Group to
exist, spin off project opportunity and looking at funding at areas
that it will help with.
The RBWM DPO has been informed of the project and signed off on a
GDPR form regarding the project too.
