Install a ‘Controlled Pedestrian Crossing’ on Cannon Lane in the vicinity of Highfield Lane

We the undersigned petition the Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead to Install a ‘Controlled Pedestrian Crossing’ on Cannon Lane in the vicinity of Highfield Lane.

Cannon Lane is a very busy road, increasingly used as a commuter route and Western Maidenhead by pass, making crossing the road in the vicinity of Highfield Lane difficult and dangerous.
There are 5 schools, doctors surgery, pub, business park and dog walking route within a very short distance.
There is increasing concern for the safety of pedestrians attempting to cross at this location, particularly during peak commute times, a controlled pedestrian crossing is desperately needed.
In 2018 RBWM consulted on a flat top crossing in the locality, the proposal was potentially dangerous, a controlled crossing was called for by residents but not pursued, I urge RBWM Officers and Members to support this petition.
