Undertake a Community Governance Review to increase the number of Parish Councillors for Oakley Green and Fifield from one back to two and to move the Parish Ward boundaries for Holyport and Bray back to the boundaries in place prior to the 2018 (cont)
The Boundary review of 2018 imposed a number of changes on Bray
Parish, which included;
The merging of Alexander Ward into Dedworth Ward.
The inclusion of the Fisheries as a new separate ward within Bray
Parish.
The reduction in Councillor numbers from 2 to 1 for Oakley Green
and Fifield, which resulted in the loss of an active and valued
Councillor, Chris Yates.
A change to the Ward Boundary for Holyport and Bray with part of
Springfield Park, Moor End and Eskdale Gardens along with a number
of properties on Holyport Road becoming part of Bray Ward and
Harvest Ride becoming part of Holyport Ward.
The first two items do not impact on Bray as a Parish, but the
Parish Council is deeply concerned about the additional workload
placed on the Ward Councillor for Oakley Green and Fifield due to
the reduction in Councillor numbers.
Councillors also believe that it was wrong for the Local Government
Boundary Commission to move the Boundary for Holyport and Bray,
particularly as it cuts across the two communities of Aysgarth Park
and Springfield Park. Neither Bray Parish Council, nor local
residents were consulted on these changes and strongly believe
these changes should be reversed.
