We the undersigned petition the Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead to Urgently introduce traffic calming measures and upgrade existing crossing point to a controlled crossing at Maidenhead Road near the railway bridge, introduce a new controlled crossing point on Switchback Road adjacent to the shops and reduce speed limit and install cameras/calming measures.
There are at least 6 schools and a number of childcare nurseries within 1 mile of Switchback Road, Cannondown Road & Maidenhead Road With no safe crossing for children and parents travelling to and from schools. The speed limit of 40mph is too high and is persistently ignored by motorists directly due to the absence of speed cameras and calming measures. A school child was killed in December 2019 along this section of road. Urgent action is required.
