Prosecute Blacknest Park developers for the illegal destruction of 21 protected trees

We the undersigned petition the Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead to prosecute Blacknest Park developers for the illegal destruction of 21 protected trees

Blacknest Park developers have just lost their High Court appeal to overturn RBWM Council’s Tree Replacement Notice. During the appeal proceedings, the developers accepted that 21 trees had been removed. There is conclusive proof from historical records, photographic evidence, witnesses, and now, even the developer has admitted in court that 21 trees have been removed illegally. However, RBWM Council is still of the view that it is not in the public interest to prosecute the developers for the TPO breach, and time is running out, as a prosecution can only be initiated up to 3 years after the breach i.e. by May 2015. With such overwhelming evidence, it is clearly in the public interest to prosecute the developers for the TPO breach. Such a blatant TPO breach should warrant a significant fine, rather than simply impose the replanting of trees. This would send a strong signal to unscrupulous developers wishing to illegally destroy protected woodlands in the Royal Borough
